Inequality and Income Support
Friday, November 5, 2021

On November 5th, the panel sessions include “Inequality and Income Support” and “Affirmative Action and Resource Allocation.” Overall, the studies covered in these sessions employ different approaches, including theory, policy evaluations, and analyses of historical data, to understand the redistributive implications of economic and political policies. The policies include federal government acts on a minimum wage and immigration, quotas in political representation, and identity-contingent hiring and school admissions. By determining the intended and unintended consequences of identity-specific or general policies for inequality, this work has the ability to influence the design of future reforms.

There is both an AM session and a PM session. Please register for each using the following links:

AM Session: 10 AM – 11:45 AM EST

PM Session: 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM EST

This session is part of a virtual symposium devoted to the general topic of race, ethnicity, gender, and economic justice in a variety of settings worldwide, hosted by EGC and Inclusion Economics Yale.  For more information please visit the Economic Justice Virtual Symposium website.
