Cognitive Aging, Overconfidence and Well-being of Older Adults

Cognitive aging creates significant challenges to health and well-being of the fast-growing aging population. Objective recognition of cognitive status over the aging process promotes improved decision-making regarding life planning, health care, financial matters, etc. This project aims to document patterns and trajectories of overconfidence in cognitive ability in old age, as well as its effects on well-being of older adults. We will use individual-level longitudinal surveys that cover several countries, including the USA, China, and European nations. Through this project, the research assistant(s) will engage in highly innovative and interdisciplinary teamwork.
