Rachel Diaz

Rachel Diaz is the Tobin Center’s Senior Public Impact Fellow facilitating collaborations between Yale research teams and local, state and national policymakers. Her work centers on creating actionable, fundable proposals that address needs across Connecticut’s data ecosystem to advance evidence-based policy, as well as consulting for the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Office of Communications on operational restructuring strategies.

Rachel is concurrently working towards a Master in Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) with a concentration in US Health Justice. She is interested in the role of community-clinical linkages to address whole person health, evidence-based policies to bolster said programs, and culturally responsive public health communications.

Prior to joining the Tobin Center as a fellow, Rachel worked in economic consulting at Analysis Group where she collaborated with analysts, MBAs and economists to draft expert reports and support expert testimony in court. She then served as the Tobin Center’s inaugural Project Coordinator at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this role, Rachel oversaw a broad portfolio of projects in the public health, behavioral messaging and economics focus areas while aiding the Center's operational capacities.

Rachel holds an AA in Economics from Miami Dade Community College, and a BA in Economics from Yale University.
