Description
Role: NYU Stern’s DHL Initiative on Globalization is recruiting a full-time junior research scholar with a background in data science or economics and a passion for analyzing the flows that connect countries around the world. This role involves conducting background research, maintaining and updating MySQL databases, programming and running quantitative analyses in R, writing up research results, helping to maintain the backend of our website, and disseminating research content. Successful candidates will combine excellent research and analysis skills with a proactive approach to quickly delivering quality results.
About NYU Stern’s DHL Initiative on Globalization: This research initiative, part of NYU Stern’s Center for the Future of Management, aims to house the academic world’s most comprehensive base of knowledge on interactions that take place between countries and their implications for business and public policy. It produces a variety of research outputs aimed at a broad audience of business executives, policymakers, scholars, and educators. These include the DHL Global Connectedness Index report series, the NYU Stern Globalization Explorer interactive website, and a variety of research articles and teaching materials.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g., economics, data science)
Required Skills:

Programming in R (preferred), Python, Stata or similar

Quantitative and qualitative research (covering both general and academic sources)

Demonstrated interest in economics, business, international affairs, geography
Optional:

Background in globalization, international economics, or international business research
