The Clarke for Congress campaign is seeking hard-working and driven interns to join our growing team! With the coronavirus outbreak changing the way we can interact withone another, we are now offering internships from the comfort of your home! Until thepandemic is under control, interns will work remotely under the supervision of, and in
communication with, senior campaign staff. For interns outside the New York City Area, working remotely can continue as all interns will have the opportunity to assist in day-to-day operations in preparation for the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

Internship Details:
A position with the Clarke for Congress campaign provides a unique opportunity to gain experience working with a progressive team of vibrant campaign staff, community leaders and activists committed to fighting for ALL members of our community. Interns play an integral role in communicating the work that Congress Member Clarke does in
Washington, D.C to the residents of the 9th Congressional District and beyond. This position is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in political campaigns, community organizing, and its many intersections. Students from studying in any major/discipline - Public Administration, English, Business, Law, Social Work, Healthcare, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Types of internships:
Clarke for Congress is looking for Community Organizing Interns who aredetail-oriented, self-starters who can meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. As an intern, you will have an opportunity to engage in monitoring media coverage, drafting blog posts, maintaining social media accounts, and other duties as
assigned. Additionally, all intern duties will include, but are not limited to:

-Outreach to community residents / voters (via telephone/social media/via email/text/etc)
-Performing administrative tasks / Facilitating data entry and organization
-Volunteer recruitment
-Reporting trends, resident issues, and feedback
-Assist in grass-roots organizing
-Assisting in virtual event organizing, outreach, and execution

Internship Requirements:
Strong writing and research skills are essential, but not a deal-breaker. However, the INABILITY to work in a team is as we currently operate under the mantra that “teamwork makes the dreamwork.”

Full-time Interns are asked to commit a minimum of 10 hours a week to the campaign. However, we encourage our interns to commit an average of 20 hours a week so that they may take full advantage of all of the exciting elements this campaign has to offer. Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
