Research for Impact Audits in Collaboration with ImpactMatters
Award:Emma Lower '19
Professor Dean Karlan
Dean Karlan, Professor of Economics, Department of Economics (firstname.lastname@example.org) Karlan will be leading several impact audits, in collaboration with ImpactMatters (www.impactm.org). Each impact audit is a short-term engagement with a nonprofit organization with two objectives: to guide nonprofits in strengthening their use and creation of evidence and to certify to donors that an organization is appropriately evidence-based. The RAs will work with Professor Karlan and the ImpactMatters team throughout the project. RAs will work on a specific engagement, search and review the literature, analyze the nonprofit’s operations and impact, draft an impact audit report, share recommendations with the organization, and contribute to the development of impact audit standards.
