Child Development: 123 Moms in New Haven and Preschool in Kenya

We are working on two child development programs, one in the US (New Haven) and one in Kenya.

In New Haven we are running an RCT that recruits pregnant women and offers mental health support. Following birth, mothers and children are offered two consecutive programs addressing mother -child attachment and child stimulation, in aid of child development. The target population are low income mothers with depressive symptoms. The RA will participate in helping collect data from subjects and will help organize the existing data. There may also be the opportunity to help analyze the data that has already come in.

In Kenya we are experimenting with a pre-school program to provide employment opportunities for women and to improve developmental outcomes for children. The RA will help us analyze the data we already have and write the first research paper coming out of this study.
