Carbon Markets and Nature-Based Solutions to Build Climate Resilience in India
Carbon markets hold significant promise for climate mitigation while delivering economic benefits to rural communities in developing countries. However, their effectiveness hinges on credibility and there is a need to ensure that credits represent real, additional emissions reductions. Our research examines how market design and monitoring and verification systems can strengthen carbon market integrity.
We are hiring a Research Assistant to support research on improving the credibility and effectiveness of carbon markets. The work spans quantitative analysis of market mechanisms and qualitative research of institutional design, with applications in forest conservation, agriculture, and other ecosystem services.
