Heat, Mobility, and Cities

Extreme heat is increasingly shaping everyday life in cities. This project uses large-scale mobility and climate data to quantify how human mobility changes under extreme heat across U.S. neighborhoods.

Students will gain hands-on experience working with spatial and mobility data and will be exposed to research at the intersection of urban planning, mobility, and climate adaptation.

Students will assist with tasks such as:

  • Writing code to analyze mobility data using R or Stata
  • Producing tables and figures

Successful RAs will be detail-oriented and able to commit approximately 10 hours per week.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in R or Stata
  • Experience with spatial data is a plus
