Proposal Description:

Across the world, and particularly in developing nations, people in rural areas tend to earn less than people in urban areas. Does this difference imply misallocation, where rural workers could earn more simply by moving to urban areas? Or are these differences in observed wages driven by unobserved differences between the people living in urban and rural areas? This project seeks to answer this question using panel data from multiple countries.
