This course focuses on theoretical and empirical research in international trade policy, and more specifically on three broad topics:  (i) normative analysis: welfare analysis of trade policy;(ii) positive analysis: the political economy of trade policy; and (iii) international trade agreements. The only requirement for the course will be in-class presentations of recent papers.  The prerequisites for the course are the two first-year Ph.D. courses in microeconomics.
