Analysis of Gender Representation in Economics Conferences

This project will expand on previous work examining the presence of female economists at research conferences. We will use data scraped from the internet to identify authors and papers presented at conferences, and identify the gender of the authors using names and hand-identification. This data will then be matched to the publication records for these papers.

This project will involve basic statistical analysis, design of figures and tables, and multivariate regression. It should particularly interest students interested in understanding differences in gender norms and outcomes in labor markets.
