The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Small Businesses

This project consists of two parts. The first studies the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses in the United States and Latin America. The research assistant will help analyze results from a large, randomized control trial evaluating the impacts of an information intervention aimed at informing small business owners in Latin America about the government aid they may qualify for and how to apply. The second studies how the COVID-19 pandemic has specifically affected small businesses and workers in the child-care industry, studying the disparate impacts of COVID-19 on workers and centers serving low-income and historically disadvantaged communities.
