Research on Housing Instability and its Impacts on Inequality

The researcher hired for this position will work on a set of projects related to the impacts of housing instability, with a focus on the impacts on families and children. The student researcher will have the opportunity to work closely with Professor Humphries and coauthors. The work will be a combination of qualitative and quantitative work. The qualitative work will involve building a database of institutional details for a set of government programs that displaced families. The quantitative work will involve cleaning and analyzing survey data and administrative data.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in statistical/econometric software packages such as Stata and R are essential, though we are happy to consider applicants with basic knowledge and enthusiasm to learn quickly. Prior experience with Latex and Git, and training in econometrics, statistics, and data science are also a plus, though not required. Experience working with large data sets, while not required, is also a plus.
