Erik Jorgensen
Erik Jorgensen is the Inclusion Economics Gender and Digital Lead, where he works with IE faculty affiliates to lead a research and policy portfolio which studies levers to increase lower-income women's access to social safety nets and social and economic opportunities in East Africa and South Asia. A core area of focus in this research is to unlock opportunities for women to access the benefits of digital transformation using evidence-informed programming in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining IE, he spent four years in Liberia with IPA and the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs practice, where he worked on impact evaluations for programs spanning cash transfers, youth employment, and rural livelihoods. In addition to these impact evaluations, he also provided technical support to project management teams from Liberia’s Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection and Ministry of Youth and Sports. Prior to his work in Liberia, Erik received a Master’s degree in African Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
