Sub-Saharan African Student Scholarship

Beginning with the 2022-23 application cycle, the Economic Growth Center and the IDE Program are launching a new scholarship program for applicants from Sub-Saharan Africa with the aim of providing new opportunities for excellent students from a region central to development economics, and encouraging further diversity in the IDE program. Applicants to the IDE Program that believe they meet the qualifications to be considered for the scholarship should provide an additional statement of up to 500 words of how a partial or full scholarship to the IDE program would help accomplish their goals.

Award Amounts

  • Partial Scholarship (tuition only)
  • Full Scholarship (tuition & living stipend)

Requirements

In addition to meeting all qualifications for entry to the IDE Program, applicants must:

  • Have primary citizenship from a country in Sub-Saharan Africa or

  • Have graduated from a Sub-Saharan African University

Timeline

Applications are accepted as a part of the IDE Program Application. Selected recipients will be notified after the admissions decisions have gone out in mid to late March.
