Michael Bruno
Michael Bruno was an Israeli economist, governor of the Bank of Israel and a former World Bank Chief Economist. He was appointed the Carl Melchior chair of international economics in 1970 and was awarded the Rothschild Prize for Social Science in 1974 and the Israel Prize for economics in 1994. Bruno was the economist behind the 1985 stabilisation plan, which brought Israel's annual rate of inflation down in one year from 400% to 20%.
