Stata Software
Stata is a widely-used integrated software package that provides data manipulation, visualization, and statistical capabilities. The university has a license for Stata MP4 v19 for use by faculty, staff and students on campus-owned machines and off campus on personal machines for academic use. The software is available for download to local or remote machines and is installed on Yale Library’s public and cloud machines, and at YCRC.
The university's Stata MP4 site license was renewed on July 1, 2025.
How do I obtain an updated license key for Stata?
- Users can obtain a license key for Stata from the Software Library at this link.
- As part of the ordering process, faculty and staff users will be asked to submit a University COA to be charged a $211 annual licensing fee, representing a lower price than the $348 annual rate announced in January 2025 and a further discount on the standard single user license fee of $510 for Stata MP4.
- Faculty and staff should enter their research account COA. Reach out to your administrative support staff if unsure of the appropriate COA.
- Student users can obtain a license key from the Software Library at no cost.
