Stata Software
Stata is a widely-used integrated software package that provides data manipulation, visualization, and statistical capabilities. The university has a license for Stata MP4 v19 for use by faculty, staff and students on campus-owned machines and off campus on personal machines for academic use. The software is available for download to local or remote machines and is installed on Yale Library’s public and cloud machines, and at YCRC.
Now Available: Stata MP2 v19
On July 1, 2026, the University renewed Stata for the 2026-27 academic year. Based on cost increases and user feedback, we have transitioned to Stata MP2 v19. The software is now completely free for faculty, staff and students.
How do I obtain a license key for Stata?
- Users can obtain a license key for Stata from the Software Library.
- Log into the Software Library first
- Then, search for Stata or use this link
Additional information
- Stata MP2 is available for use by faculty and students on MyApps and LibraryApps.
- The current Stata MP2 license will expire on June 30, 2027.
