Yale welcomes new assistant professor Joe Shapiro

Joseph Shapiro is an environmental economist with substantial interests in trade, energy, and health. His research is concentrated in two areas: trade and the environment; and adaptation to environmental change. He has written on how trade affects climate change, on the benefits of cap-and-trade markets for air pollution, and on the changing effects of extreme weather on health. He received a BA from Stanford, Masters degrees from Oxford and LSE as a Marshall Scholar, and a PhD in Economics from MIT.
