Kenneth Rogoff, author of the bestseller This Time Is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly, will speak about policy challenges in the post-crisis economy on Tuesday, April 15. The talk will take place at 4:30 in Linsly-Chittenden Hall, Room 101 and will be followed by a Q&A.

Professor Rogoff is a renowned international economist and has studied the causes and impacts of severe financial crises across time and space. His 2009 book This Time is Different, co-authored with Carmen Reinhart, traces the history of currency crises, hyperinflation, and government defaults over 800 years — and the missteps that lead us from one crisis to another.

Professor Rogoff served as Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund from 2001 to 2003. He is now the Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy and Economics at Harvard. He also advises the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, writes a monthly syndicated column on global economic issues, and is a chess grandmaster.

This event celebrates the release of the Spring 2014 issue of the Yale Journal of Economics. Free copies will be available at the event.
