Mira Frick Appointed to Economics Department

Mira Frick will join the Economics Department as an assistant professor in July 2017.  Mira is a microeconomic theorist interested in game theory, decision theory, information economics, and behavioral economics. Her recent papers study the effect of an economy’s potential for social learning on the adoption of innovations of uncertain quality; the robustness of refinements of rationality in incomplete-information games; and decision-theoretic characterizations of “choice overload.”

Since the fall 2015, Mira has been a postdoctoral fellow at the Cowles Foundation, where she will continue until her faculty appointment begins. Prior to this, she received a PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University in May 2015, and completed undergraduate and graduate-level studies in mathematics and philosophy at the University of Oxford, École Normale Supérieure (Paris), and UC Berkeley. While at Yale, she taught a senior seminar in the fall 2015 term on social learning and strategic information transmission and will teach in the graduate microeconomics course next fall.
