Professor James Robinson to present at Simon Kuznets Lecture Series

Professor James Robinson of University of Chicago will present at the 26th Kuznets Lecture on April 12, 2016. The title of his presentation is “Paths of State Building.” Some of Robinson’s best-known work looks at the conditions and institutions that shape national and global economic outcomes. Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty, which he coauthored with Daron Acemoglu in 2012, earned international acclaim in academic and popular publications. Robinson’s research focuses on political economy, comparative politics and economic and political development, with a particular interest in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
