New DUS and Associate Chair Named

In an announcement this week from Department Chair, Dirk Bergemann, Ebonya Washington has been named Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) and Eva Chalioti Associate Chair. Washington is succeeding Sam Kortum and will serve a three-year term beginning the 2016-17 academic year. She has been at Yale since 2004 after receiving her Ph.D. from MIT in 2003 and is affiliated with both the Economics and Political Science Departments.
Chalioti will be taking over the Associate Chair position for Doug McKee who is leaving for Cornell University. Chalioti has been a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics since 2014 after coming to Yale from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she taught for three years. Chalioti also spent one year as a Visiting Assistant in Research in the Yale Department of Economics in 2010 while attending Athens University of Economics & Business as a Ph.D. student. Her term as Associate Chair begins this fall.
