Cowles Joins Measurement Tools Design (MeToD) Lab Research Network
The MeToD Lab continues the Cowles tradition of integrating measurement and economic theory to advance empirical research.
Cowles Professor of Economics Orazio Attanasio is advancing his pioneering research through the creation of the Measurement Tools Design (MeToD) Lab, funded by the Italian Ministry for Research.
MeToD is a research network centered at the University of Calabria, dedicated to developing innovative tools for capturing complex theoretical concepts underlying individual behavior—such as subjective beliefs, attitudes, and social norms. The Laboratory is designed to serve as an interdisciplinary hub and a key node in a global network of collaborations with leading international academic institutions.
The project has been awarded a prestigious Advanced Grant from the Italian Fund for Science (FIS), a distinction that places Attanasio among only eight recipients nationwide in the social sciences and humanities, underscoring the national recognition of his work.
The Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics has joined MeToD as one of twelve partner nodes, along with other academic departments and centers throughout Europe. The MeToD Lab continues the Cowles tradition of integrating measurement and economic theory to advance empirical research.
