Active Shooter Drills: Unanticipated Consequences
Given increased attention to school gun violence, many districts have implemented “active shooter drills.” This project seeks to assess the impact of these drills on student mental health and behavior. Research assistance is sought to identify and compile critical data on active shooter drill protocols and match it to student-level data in Stata. Depending on how quickly this work proceeds, further responsibilities may include generating tables and figures, and conducting preliminary analyses under Dr. Friedman’s guidance.
Requisite Skills and Qualifications:
Coursework in econometrics and intermediate microeconomics, a basic knowledge of Stata, attention to detail, ability to work independently.
