Economic Narratives Advancing the Longest Economic Expansion 2009-2019

I am committed to present a paper at the American Economic Association Annual Convention January 3, 2020: Popular Economic Narratives Advancing the Longest U.S. Expansion 2009-2019(link is external)

The paper is to describe changing economic narratives through time 2009-2019, by reading and doing digital text analysis. The method is outlined in my AEA presidential address 2017:

Research will involve reading newspapers between 2009-2019, attempting to quantify their frequencies through time, and having biweekly meetings with me to discuss changing popular economic attitudes and theories that affect economic outcomes..

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

General knowledge of economic theory, interest in recent history. Knowledge of a major foreign language could be an asset.
