Project Associate at the Carbon Containment Lab
Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time. The Carbon Containment Lab (CC Lab) is dedicated to advancing scalable and cost-effective climate solutions. Our mission is to break down the barriers to large scale climate solutions by leveraging our scientific, entrepreneurial, and investment expertise.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate to join us in New Haven, Connecticut. This role offers fantastic opportunities for an individual with outstanding analytical and project management skills, a passion for climate action, and a readiness to start leading workstreams and coordinating projects. As an Associate, you will spearhead workstreams, coordinate projects, and gradually take on more management responsibilities as you grow with us.
The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise in areas such as geosciences, biomass analysis and characterization, forest ecology, refrigerants, methane, climate economics, climate policy, or carbon markets. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, is naturally curious, and is eager to tackle tangible challenges. Desired Qualifications:

At least 3 years of relevant work experience with a Master’s degree in a relevant field or at least 5 years of work experience with Bachelor’s degree

Strong analytical skills, with existing skill or an interest in learning data science, ArcGIS, LCA, and TEA.

Experience with programming and scripting platforms such as R, Matlab, C/C++, or Python

Familiarity or experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, GIS, Airtable (or similar database system)

Experience in managing, solving problems, and delivering on projects

Proactive, self-directed, resourceful, with the ability to learn quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment

Experience and comfort in working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a variety of contexts
