School Racial Segregation and Long-Term Health Disparities - Xi Chen
School segregation exposure in childhood may have longstanding health impacts, especially for minority groups. This study will link American school racial segregation data at various levels with rich data on life course circumstances, medical records and other health measures to explore how school racial segregation may contribute to health disparities among older Americans. We will also examine plausible pathways and implications for public policy. Through this project, the identified research assistants will engage in highly innovative and interdisciplinary teamwork and have the opportunity to publish exciting research findings.
