Fuyuko Onishi

IDE Student

Fuyuko Onishi is a master’s student in the International and Development Economics (IDE) program at Yale University. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University and currently works as an economist at the Bank of Japan, where she has contributed to monetary policy analysis, foreign exchange research, and international statistics.

Her research interests lie in development economics, gender inequality, and macroeconomic policy. Inspired by early experiences in China and fieldwork in Thailand, she is passionate about using data-driven approaches to address structural challenges in both developed and developing economies.

Outside of work, she enjoys visiting historical sites, drawing, embroidery, and Japanese flower arrangement.
