Anton Yang is a trade economist whose primary research focuses on empirical and spatial patterns of supply and demand in structural models. He obtained his PhD from Purdue University, where he holds an affiliated teaching and research associate position.
His research at Yale centers on two distinct but interrelated pathways. The first explores the spatial distributions of global natural resources by using Earth’s gravity field and topographic data, while examining the intricate interplay between economic principles and fluid dynamics. The second pathway concentrates on studying equilibrium models by integrating geospatial structures with industrial organization econometrics. His joint research was awarded the 2023 CEPR Larger Research Grant funded by the UK government.
