IDE Student

Koo Ii is a student in the International and Development Economics MA program at Yale. She graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA (Hons) in Economics, where she took interest in cultivating a global perspective of socio-economic issues with peers, academics and even governments from around the world through multiple projects. To that end, Koo Ii has professional proficiency in three languages, both written and spoken - English, Chinese and French - or more, if statistical and computing languages are included. She holds work experience in the Singapore public sector, having done various stints at the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Americas Directorate) and the Ministry of Trade & Industry. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Koo Ii has dabbled in playing the drums for a cover band and has a unique obsession for analogue typewriters.

Koo Ii is a recipient of a scholarship from a statutory board of the Singapore Government. Upon graduation, she will contribute to the creation of employment and business opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia as a public servant.
