Faris Maulana is pursuing his Master of Arts in International and Development Economics at Yale University. Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Faris graduated cum laude with a degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia in 2018. His interest in international economics led him to write and publish an honor thesis studying the impact of democracy on Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries' intra-regional and extra-regional trade.

Before joining Yale, Faris served as a Junior Economist in the Economic and Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank of Indonesia, where he was responsible for conducting macroeconomic assessments, research, and writing policy notes to support Bank Indonesia’s monetary policy formulation.
