Philip Kalikman

Philip Kalikman received his PhD from Yale University in 2019. He studies mortgage default, housing markets, and the 2007–8 U.S. Financial Crisis. His dissertation, Essays on Housing, Mortgages, and the Financial Crisis, consists of three essays that bridge empirical and theoretical work on mortgages and real estate finance, illuminating the drivers of mortgage default and of the Financial Crisis and developing economic machinery to study mortgage and housing policy in normal times as well as in crisis management. Dr. Kalikman holds an MA and MPhil in Economics from Yale University, and a BA in Pure Mathematics from the University of Chicago.
