Soumya Agrawal is a graduate student joining the Master's in International and Development Economics program at Yale University. She has completed her undergrad in Economics from Miranda House, University of Delhi, India. She is passionate about development Economics and interned in many organizations like Her-World India and ElleNomics that are working in the areas of women empowerment and gender economics. She loves to write economics-related articles and has written various articles like agriculture economics, COVID-19 and women, female land ownership in India, and women in STEM. She has also been part of various podcasts and seminars on the topics like Buddhist Economics, sharing economy etc. She was also selected for an IMF fellowship from 4000 people who applied for it worldwide based on her solutions to tackle inflation, climate change and food security in 2022. Apart from this, she is into animal welfare and rescued many animals during her tenure at the animal welfare society in her college. After Yale, Soumya plans to work in various think tanks and government organizations to formulate policies aiding the development of underdeveloped regions of the world.
