College Fed Challenge

Each November, Yale sends an undergraduate team to compete at the College Fed Challenge competition hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The team delivers a 15 minute briefing on economic conditions, financial conditions, and monetary policy, and then answers questions from a panel of judges. The Yale team has regularly performed very well at the Boston competition, and Yale won the Boston competition as well as the national competition in Washington DC in 2018.

New team members work closely with upperclassmen and Yale professors to learn more about finance and economics, conduct rigorous economic research, and develop the team’s presentation. The Fed Challenge is a great opportunity to meet new people, be part of a team effort, and learn more about financial markets, economic policy-making, and central banking.
