Description

Role : The NYU Stern Center for the Globalization of Education and Management (CGEM) is recruiting a full-time researcher to assist with the center’s research activities: from gathering background research to preparing and analyzing datasets to writing up research findings and summarizing them in presentation slides. Successful candidates will combine excellent research, analysis and writing skills with a proactive approach to delivering quality results even under time constraints. The position will involve a mix of short- and long-term research projects on globalization, business strategy, and international economics.

About CGEM : This research center aims to house the academic world’s most comprehensive base of knowledge on interactions that take place between countries and their implications for business and public policy. The center produces a variety of research outputs tailored to its various audiences: teaching content for educators, practitioner-oriented publications for business executives and policymakers, as well as academic publications for the research community. Interdisciplinary approaches and engagement with practitioners are emphasized as sources of novel insights that help address real world challenges. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g. economics, business)

Required Skills:

  • Web research (covering both general and academic sources)
  • Data analysis/modeling in Excel
  • General economics and business knowledge
  • Knowledge of international affairs and geography 
  • Strong writing skills

Optional:

  • Experience programming in R, Python, Stata or similar
  • Web development
  • Foreign language abilities 

Time Commitment: Full-time

Compensation: Competitive
