The Evolutionary Foundations of Preferences

The project will explore how evolution has shaped human preferences. The work will involve a combination of developing theoretical models and compiling and surveying existing empirical evidence. The project will focus on topics such as risk attitudes, discounting, information processing, and concerns for status. The research assistant will search, develop a working knowledge of, and synthesize the relevant literature; and will help develop and evaluate formal models and arguments.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

The research assistant should be interested in and willing to explore the relevant literature in different fields, including economics, biology and psychology, and should be comfortable working with economic models.
