Behavioral Health Treatment and Population Health Outcomes
Substance use disorders are associated with population health outcomes such as motor vehicle accidents and injuries. Increases in treatment access and quality may improve these outcomes. In this research we assess whether an enhanced payment model for behavioral health is associated with changes in the trajectories of public health outcomes and their associated costs. The Research Assistance will verify state policy data, link to patient-level and area-level health outcomes, and generate tables and figures.
