The Politics of Education Reform
This project studies the political implications of controversial education reforms by examining the impact of Act 10, a 2011 Wisconsin law that changed pay and benefits for most public sector employees, most of whom are teachers. The analysis will use state-of-the-art econometric techniques applied to newly collected data on teachers, students, voters, and teachers' unions.
Requisite Skills and Qualifications
The research assistant will be involved in the collection, cleaning, and analysis of these novel dataset. The ideal candidate has some experience using OCR techniques and some familiarity with Stata.
