Evictions and the Rental Market

Proposal Description:

This project studies how rental market regulation and eviction regulation affect the rental market. In particular, we aim to study how housing regulation affects the price and quantity of rental market housing and the number of evictions. The student researcher will help build databases, conduct analysis, and summarize results. The work will consist of quantitative research and data analysis as well as qualitative research on the institutional details surrounding changes in eviction policy.

Requisite Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in a statistical/econometric software packages such as R, stata, or python is preferred. Prior experience with Latex and Git, and training in econometrics, statistics, and data science are preferred, though not required.
