Research Assistant

Professor Damon Jones at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy is seeking applicants for a full-time research assistant based at the Harris School.

The RA will serve as the lead research assistant for a randomized controlled trial being conducted by Professor Jones, Professor Jonathan Davis (Oregon), and Major Kyle Greenberg (West Point). In addition to conducting the analysis under the guidance of the PIs, the RA will also help with project management.

Interested individuals should be able to start around June 1st, 2020 and should be willing to stay in this role for at least one year, and potentially up to three years. Due to the current pandemic, the RA can work remotely until normal in-person interactions resume. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.

The role may be especially beneficial for individuals interested in pursuing a PhD in economics or a related field.

Competitive applicants should have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in economics or a related field and strong programming skills in Stata. Familiarity with Latex, GitHub, R, and Python is also advantageous. Due to data access restrictions set by the data provider, candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Pay for the position starts at $54,000.
